Job summary

Eye Health America, in partnership with Bowden Eye Associates, seeks an ophthalmic technician to support doctors with eye examinations under supervision. You will perform patient workups, vision tests, data collection, maintain patient flow, scribe, and assist procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and two years of experience or an Ophthalmic Assistant Certification; entry-level candidates with customer service background are welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience with patient care in a clinical setting preferred.
• Ability to gather accurate patient information and take ocular measurements.
• Scribing or assisting during examinations is a plus.
• Training provided to entry-level candidates with customer service background.

Responsibilities

• Gather medical records and patient information.
• Take ocular measurements, both anatomical and functional.
• Administer or prepare medications as needed.
• Provide eye care and contact lens information to patients.

About the Role

Eye Health America partners with leading eye care practices across the Southeast to provide operational, strategic, and administrative support. Bowden Eye Associates, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing multi‑specialty ophthalmology practice seeking an ophthalmic technician to assist doctors with eye examinations under the supervision of the clinical manager. The candidate will perform patient workups, vision tests, data collection, maintain patient flow, scribe, and support procedures.

Responsibilities

• Gather medical records and patient information
• Take ocular measurements, both anatomical and functional
• Administer or prepare medications
• Provide eye care and contact lens information to patients
• Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments
