Minnesota Eye Consultants in Bloomington, MN is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician I to join our MEC team. The role involves performing measurements and tests to aid physicians in diagnosing and planning treatment. Starting pay is $20.00-23.00/hour with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional Saturday half-days.
You will work with Doctors of Optometry and other MEC providers, gaining experience with complex cases and advancing through MEC's technician career path.

This position is responsible for performing measurements and tests that provide the physician with the information needed to arrive at a diagnosis and to prescribe treatment. This position primarily works with Doctors of Optometry but may see patients for any MEC provider within their skill-set. Starting pay is $20.00-23.00/hour.
This position will work Monday-Friday, between 7:30am-5:00pm. May require an occasional 1/2 day on Saturday. The home base of this position is the Bloomington clinic, but may be scheduled to work shifts at the other MEC locations as needed (Bloomington, Blaine and Minnetonka).

Perform and document subjective and objective ophthalmic testing efficiently to provide basic information necessary for ophthalmic examinations. This includes but is not limited to: history, visual acuities, lensometry (manual and auto), refractometry, keratometry (manual and automated), visual fields, tonometry, assisting with office procedures
Educate patients regarding diagnostic testing and their clinic visit
Open and close exam rooms, ensure all equipment is clean and ready for the doctor; stock all necessary supplies
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience within an eye clinic or Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant or LPN experience
Optometry or Ophthalmology experience preferred but not required
