Overview

8-Week Contract Opportunity

Location: 200 N. Robertson Blvd.

Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday 08:30-17:30 and 1 weekend per month

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification from AHA or ARC
• Ophthalmic Assistant Certificate
• Experience with vision insurance and benefit plans
• Minimum of 6 months experience working in a vision center setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
• Experience with VF, IOL, OCT, and Optos

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Fit prescription lenses
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Take patient history and other preliminary patient data
• Perform simple non-invasive testing of visual acuity, pupils, and ocular motility
• Conduct automated visual field testing
• Perform ophthalmic photography and digital imaging
• Conduct tonometry and lensometry
• Perform non-subjective auto refraction
• Administer cycloplegiacs, mydriatics, and topical anesthetics for ophthalmic purposes
• Conduct pachymetry, keratometry, A scans, B scans, and electrodiagnostic testing
• Environmental cleaning and disinfection of clinical areas
• Assist in preparations for surgical and other clinical procedures, including equipment sterilization
• Provide instructions to patients concerning eye care and assist them in understanding and complying with prescribed treatments
