8-Week Contract Opportunity
Location: 200 N. Robertson Blvd.
Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday 08:30-17:30 and 1 weekend per month
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC
- Ophthalmic Assistant Certificate
- Experience with vision insurance and benefit plans
- Minimum of 6 months experience working in a vision center setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
- Experience with VF, IOL, OCT, and Optos
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fit prescription lenses
- Prepare patients for examinations
- Take patient history and other preliminary patient data
- Perform simple non-invasive testing of visual acuity, pupils, and ocular motility
- Conduct automated visual field testing
- Perform ophthalmic photography and digital imaging
- Conduct tonometry and lensometry
- Perform non-subjective auto refraction
- Administer cycloplegiacs, mydriatics, and topical anesthetics for ophthalmic purposes
- Conduct pachymetry, keratometry, A scans, B scans, and electrodiagnostic testing
- Environmental cleaning and disinfection of clinical areas
- Assist in preparations for surgical and other clinical procedures, including equipment sterilization
- Provide instructions to patients concerning eye care and assist them in understanding and complying with prescribed treatments
