Description

Southeast Retina Center, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. Our focus is on excellence in patient care and creating an exceptional customer/patient experience. Under the supervision of the clinical manager, the ophthalmic technician assists doctors with eye examinations and performs various administrative tasks. *Overtime may be required. Must be willing to travel to different clinic locations as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Gathering medical records and patient information
2. Taking ocular measurements, both anatomical and functional
3. Administering or preparing medications
4. Providing eye care and contact lens information to patients
5. Maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic instruments
6. Managing incoming calls and voicemails
7. Monitoring and managing electronic communications
8. Monitoring labs and diagnostic tests, and following up when necessary
9. Completing time-sensitive forms for patients
10. Obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic tests and procedures
11. Assisting doctors with procedures and administrative tasks

Requirements:

• Two years of work experience and/or Ophthalmic Assistant certification preferred but not required
• Training will be provided upon hire
