Job summary

Northwest Eye Surgeons Smokey Point is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. You will support physicians with patient workups, diagnostic testing, and in-office procedures while delivering excellent patient care.

No ophthalmic experience is required—we’re willing to train the right candidate and help you grow your career in eye care. You’ll work with advanced diagnostic technology in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in ophthalmic settings is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to learn and train in ophthalmic procedures.
• Strong communication and patient-focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient workups and assist with ocular examinations.
• Conduct diagnostic testing and document findings and treatment recommendations.
• Administer ophthalmic medications and assist with in-office procedures.
• Support patient education and pre/post-care instructions.
• Monitor patient flow and communicate status updates to the team.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists to ensure compassionate patient care.

What You’ll Do

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you’ll help create a smooth, positive patient experience while supporting physicians in delivering high-quality eye care. Responsibilities include:

• Perform patient workups and assist with ocular examinations.
• Conduct specialized diagnostic testing and accurately document examination findings and treatment recommendations.
• Administer ophthalmic medications and assist with in-office laser procedures.
• Provide patient education and assist with treatments, dressings, and other clinical needs.
• Monitor patient flow and communicate appointment status updates to support an efficient clinic.
• Partner with ophthalmologists and the clinical team to ensure patients receive attentive, compassionate care.
