• High School graduate required.
• Typically 2 years of experience as an optometric/ophthalmic assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and eye anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and equipment, stock supplies, and maintain cleanliness.
• Prepare patient for exam and document medical history.
• Perform basic to complex ocular tests and screenings.
• Assist ophthalmologist with procedures and postoperative care.
• Capture ocular photographs and manage glasses/contact lens orders.
• Sterilize instruments and schedule post-operative appointments.
