Job summary

Sightpath Medical in the Mills River/Asheville area seeks a Surgical Technologist to support ophthalmic procedures while managing inventory for an ASC.

This hybrid role blends operating room turnover with off-site inventory duties, with on-the-job training and growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates have an accredited Surgical Technology program, NBSTSA certification or eligibility, strong organizational and communication skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or certification eligible.
• Ophthalmology experience preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills with experience managing inventory or supplies.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with surgeons and ASC staff.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable using company-issued iPhone and iPad.

Responsibilities

• Manage ophthalmic inventory and supplies stored at an off-site inventory location.
• Perform inventory counts, ordering, receiving, stock rotation, and replenishment to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Transport inventory and supplies between the storage location and ASC using a company-provided vehicle.
• Assist with operating room turnover alongside facility surgical staff to ensure efficient case flow.
• Prepare surgical equipment and supplies for ophthalmic procedures.
• Scrub into ophthalmic procedures as needed to support the surgical team, with opportunities for additional ophthalmology training.
• Collaborate with surgeons, ASC staff, and Sightpath teammates to ensure efficient daily operations and exceptional patient care.
