Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $21.00/hr

THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND

We’re looking for passionate and empathetic people to join our team as Ophthalmic Technicians and Scribes. Our Techs are responsible for all of the pre-exam elements of the patient visit. This includes gathering and documenting patient information and history and conducting routine and ancillary patient testing. You'll also accompany the providfer during the examination and treatment of patients and transcribe the diagnoses, prescriptions, and instructions, ensuring the highest level of detail. You’ll play a vital role in the patients experience with OCLI and in helping our Dr’s to diagnose and treat eye disorders.

OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU

  • You’ll test and record patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception
  • You’ll apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect and process specimens for testing
  • You’ll triage emergency cases appropriately into physicians schedule and maintain patient flow
  • You’ll prepare patient and procedure room and assist ophthalmologist with procedures as needed
  • You’ll perform first level maintenance on ophthalmic equipment and notify the office manager of any equipment malfunctions
  • You will be expected to utilize, as appropriate, infection control techniques and universal precautions, and to maintain confidentiality at all times

  • You’re an excellent communicator – both verbally and written
  • You’re outgoing, you love the idea of interacting with patients everyday
  • You’re comfortable providing white glove service and responding quickly to our patients needs
  • You’re a dependable problem solver – you’re the one people call to keep cool in stressful situations
  • You have a positive, can-do attitude and work well in collaborative environments
  • You’re flexible – you roll with the punches and easily accept change
  • You’re knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology such as anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics and cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories is a PLUS, but not a requirement
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
