Job summary

You will administer topical ophthalmic medications, educate patients on testing procedures and treatment plans, and assist ophthalmologists, including scribing and minor procedures when required.

The role requires good communication, ability to lift and move equipment, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential within 30 days of hire.
• Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical history to inform ophthalmologist's assessment.
• Perform essential ophthalmic diagnostic tests (visual acuity, pupil, keratometry, perimetry, topography, tear tests).
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications.
• Educate patients on testing procedures, conditions, and treatment plans.
• Assist ophthalmologists during procedures and as a scribe when needed.
• Report equipment malfunctions and manage consumables.
