Job summary

Wheaton Eye Clinic in Naperville, IL seeks an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant to support patient exams, tests and minor procedures. Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm; every other Saturday. Salary range $22.00-$25.00 hourly; full-time position.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, history taking, exam room maintenance, handling calls, and patient education under doctors’ instructions. Ophthalmic Technician training preferred; training offered. EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Ophthalmic Technician training preferred or on-the-job training offered
• Strong verbal and written communication, and active listening skills
• Excellent attention to detail and task organization
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist patients through eye examinations and treatments
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests or treatments and explain procedures
• Perform history taking, patient work-up and diagnostic testing
• Assist in minor surgical procedures
• Provide patient education per doctors’ instructions
• Maintain exam room and diagnostic instrument supplies
• Handle pharmacy calls and return patient calls
• Additional duties as assigned
