Job summary

Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Stoneham (Montvale Avenue site) is seeking an Ophthalmic Photographer. You will perform specialized ophthalmic and medical photography to support patient care, diagnosis, and education, working closely with physicians and the care team to obtain high-quality images.

The role requires 2–3 years of ophthalmic photography experience (Bachelor's preferred) and involves documenting procedures in EPIC, mentorship to peers, and collaboration with senior staff.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in ophthalmic or medical photography.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Photography or related field.
• Equivalent experience cannot be substituted for the required education.
• No specific license or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ophthalmic photography studies (fundus, full-face, wide-angle, anterior segment) for patient records and teaching.
• Reviews physician orders in EPIC and confirms imaging study before photography.
• Captures high-quality color photographs and ensures accurate patient identification.
• Operates ophthalmic imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.
• Explains imaging procedures to patients and provides instructions for angiography.
• Documents procedures accurately in EPIC.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to other photographers.
• Collaborates with physicians and senior staff to coordinate services.
