Job summary

Job description

Park Nicollet welcomes applications for an Ophthalmic Assistant III to join our Eye Care team supporting our Retina Clinic. Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

The Ophthalmic Assistant prepares patients for ophthalmic tests, evaluation, and treatment, ensuring quality patient services. The Ophthalmic Assistant has knowledge of age-related growth and development principles, general ophthalmology equipment (including phoropters, keratometers, slit lamps, tonometers, corneal and retinal imaging, retinoscopes, lensometers, and visual fields), and general computer skills (including Microsoft Outlook, image viewing software, and Epic).

Work Schedule:

• Day shift, Monday-Friday.

Required Qualifications:

• Certification through JCAHPO as an Ophthalmic Assistant within two years of hire date (must be certified at the COA level).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Satisfactory completion of an accredited home study course in Ophthalmic Assisting OR
• Satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR
• Satisfactory completion of a Medical Office Assistant program OR
• Equivalent related experience.

Additional Information:

This is a non-union 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day shift position, working in Saint Louis Park, MN. The full salary range for this position is $24.76-$37.14 per hour, based on experience and internal equity. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for benefits.
