Qualifications

• Experience in a professional environment with strong customer service.
• Previous experience within the medical field preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Work with ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide patient care by performing eye-related clinical functions.
• Take histories, perform procedures and tests, and prepare patients to see the doctor.
• Provide important information to help diagnose and treat patients.
• Assist patients with excellent customer service and information on treatments.
• Conduct tonometry to measure intraocular pressure.
• Measure visual acuity.
• Take and document patients’ medical histories.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
• Conduct visual field tests.
• Instruct patients on care and use of contact lenses.
