US Eye in Charleston, SC is seeking a motivated Ophthalmic Assistant to join our physician-led, patient-focused team. You will receive hands-on training alongside renowned ophthalmic surgeons and optometrists, performing eye-care procedures and supporting patients throughout exams. No prior medical experience?

We’ll train you. A high school diploma or GED is required; customer service skills and a teamwork mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in a professional environment.
• Previous experience in medical field preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care with ophthalmologists and optometrists.
• Take histories, perform procedures and tests, prepare patients for exams.
• Collect and document patient medical histories; support treatment decisions.
• Offer excellent customer service and information about treatments.
• Conduct tonometry and measure visual acuity.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and usage.
• Develop connections with patients with warmth and empathy.
• Work as part of a team in a growing surgical practice.
