Springfield Clinic is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support Ophthalmologists and Optometrists with direct patient care and pre-testing. You will perform vision tests, take histories, and document in the EMR while contributing to a smooth clinical workflow.

The role requires a high school diploma, CPR certification within 30 days, and the ability to obtain a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant examination within 18 months. Excellent patient service and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual acuity testing, pupillary evaluation and diagnostic tests.
• Obtain patient history and entry into the EMR.
• Order ocular testing and assist with pre-testing of patients.
• Administer eye medications and irrigating solutions under supervision.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock nursing station, and ensure compliance with policies.
