  • At least 1 year of prior work experience required.
  • Basic Life Support / CPR preferred.

Job description

Work Schedule:


100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Shifts scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Cohort starts 7/28/2025.


Pay:


We offer a competitive starting pay of $18.25 per hour. Upon graduation from the program, pay will increase based on the Ophthalmic Assistant pay grade. This position is benefit eligible.

We are currently seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant Apprentice to:


  • Join our 8-month Ophthalmic Assistant Apprenticeship Program designed for those interested in becoming an Ophthalmic Assistant at UW Health.
  • Attend in-person classes and clinicals.
  • Upon successful completion, participants will be interviewed and placed in Ophthalmic Assistant positions within UW Health.
  • Gain hands-on experience in direct patient care tasks, visual acuities, and ophthalmology procedures.
