Job summary

5110 Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is launching a new ophthalmology practice in Weymouth and seeks dedicated team members to contribute to patient care. This unique role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact from day one.

Job Summary

We are excited to launch a brand-new ophthalmology practice in Weymouth and are looking for dedicated team members to help us launch the location successfully. This unique opportunity allows candidates to contribute to the success of a new practice and make a meaningful impact on patient care from day one.

Responsibilities
  • Gather and document clinical information during patient encounters.
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
  • Help ensure efficient patient flow throughout the practice.
  • Collaborate closely with Ophthalmologists and the clinical team to support diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide variety of ocular conditions.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (no substitute for experience).
  • Basic knowledge of ocular terminology, anatomy, physiology, ocular diseases, procedures, and pharmacology.
  • Proficient interpersonal and customer service skills to work effectively with patients and families.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a fast‑paced, high‑volume clinic setting.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with members of the care team.
  • Problem‑solving skills and the capacity to make decisions appropriate to the scope of practice.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous ophthalmology experience is welcomed but not required for candidates with a strong interest in learning and developing within the specialty.
Training & Scheduling

Initial 2–3 months of training will occur at our Boston locations, with opportunities to support other sites until the Weymouth office becomes fully operational. After opening, occasional coverage at other locations may be required based on needs. Hours are assigned based on clinical and operational requirements and may vary. Typical shifts include 7:45AM–4:15PM, 8:00AM–4:30PM, or 8:30AM–5:00PM.
