Job Summary

We are opening a brand‑new ophthalmology office in Weymouth and are looking for dedicated team members to help launch this location successfully. Candidates must be willing to complete training at other nearby sites prior to the opening of the Weymouth office. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team, contribute to the success of a new practice, and make a meaningful impact on patient care from day one.

About the Role

We are seeking both new and experienced ophthalmic assistants, certified or uncertified, to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play an important role in the patient experience by gathering and documenting clinical information, assisting providers with examinations and procedures, and helping to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the practice. Working closely with our Ophthalmologists and clinical team, you will support the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide variety of ocular conditions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialized clinical skills in a highly respected and rewarding field while working in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment.

Training & Scheduling Information

The first 2–3 months of training may take place at our Boston locations and may include supporting other locations as needed prior to the Weymouth site becoming fully operational. Following the opening of the Weymouth office, occasional coverage at other locations may be required based on operational needs.

Hours
  • 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM
  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of ocular terminology, anatomy, physiology of the eye, ocular diseases and disorders, ophthalmic procedures, and pharmacology
  • Proficient in interpersonal and customer‑service skills to effectively work with patients and families
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the patients’ age, mental and physical needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changes in fast‑paced, high‑volume clinics
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with members of the care team
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to make decisions based on the role’s scope of practice
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite
