Job Description

K.S.A.'s:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • COA certification within 1 year of hire required.
  • Prior pediatric healthcare experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with hospital staff, patients, and families.
  • Knowledge of growth and development across all ages is strongly preferred.

Job Duties include:

  • Assist in comprehensive patient care under physician guidance, providing technical support for ophthalmic evaluations and treatments.
  • Gather and document medical history from patients and families.
  • Perform age-appropriate ophthalmic exams, including visual acuity assessments, stereo acuity, color vision, ocular motility, and pupil assessments.
  • Assist with examinations such as lensometry and measurement of glasses.
  • Administer eye drops and educate patients on ocular care and medications.
  • Document in electronic medical records accurately.
  • Provide patient education on procedures, medication instillation, and post-operative care.
  • Maintain clinical equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and restocking as needed.
  • Adhere to service principles emphasizing innovation, service excellence, and teamwork.
  • Follow protocols for chemical disinfection, sterilization, and infection control.

Education

High School Diploma/GED required; BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Pay Range

$19.50 - $30.23 hourly. Compensation includes base salary, benefits, and potential incentives. Details available upon request.
