Then come join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician. This is an entry-level position, and we will provide free training for motivated individuals.
Under the supervision of the department supervisor, the Ophthalmic Assistant plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive ophthalmic care. Responsibilities include assisting physicians in gathering patient data and maintaining a clinical environment. Tasks include conducting visual acuity testing, visual field testing, lensometry, auto refractometry, pupil assessment, extraocular motility, external examination, applanation tonometry, tonopen, eye drop instillation, diagnostic testing, and participating in patient care. The technician maintains medical records and participates in employer-sponsored training to become certified by JCAHPO as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within 24 months of hire.
