The County of Licking is looking for a dedicated candidate to operate and maintain wastewater collections and water distribution treatment plants. The role involves monitoring equipment, responding to emergencies, and performing routine maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a technical education, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work well with the public.
Performs necessary functions of the daily operation and maintenance of wastewater collections, water distribution and treatment plants.
Job Prerequisites:
Minimum Qualifications:
One year certificate from college or technical school; and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Ohio Driver’s License. Physical mobility, lifting, and exposure to hazardous conditions.
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):
Ohio EPA Class I Water and Class I Wastewater Certificates are preferred but not required. Knowledge of basic Water & Wastewater testing is also recommended but not required. Candidates must be able to relate to the public in a professional manner. Candidate must have a positive attitude and be able to adapt to changing conditions and work demands. Candidate should have general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and septic tank operation. Candidate should have small equipment operation skills, including zero turn mower, skid steer and backhoe. Candidate should be a fast learner and be able to learn new skills. Candidate must be able to work alone and in a team setting. Candidate must have good problems solving skills.
