Job summary

Star Construction LLC is seeking an Operator of Telecom Aerial Equipment to operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecom infrastructure.

You will work on overhead fiber and telecom lines, ensuring precision and safety while supporting routine operations and emergency restoration efforts. Training and a safety-first culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Valid state driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience and clean record.
  • Six months of supervised aerial telecom equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts and telecom equipment at job sites and during transit.
  • Install, maintain and repair overhead fiber optic and telecommunications lines.
  • Perform general construction tasks (lifting up to 50 pounds, using hand tools).
  • Follow safety regulations and directions to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Restore work areas by securing poles and cables and ensure proper alignment of telecom lines.
  • Travel for emergency response efforts with short notice and assist with network restoration.
  • Identify utility conflicts and ensure clearance for aerial installations.
  • Review minimum approach distances near electrical infrastructure.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal teams, contractors and utility partners.
  • Communicate with supervisors to ensure project execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Do
  • Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and other telecom equipment at job sites and during transit

  • Perform general construction tasks, include lifting materials up to 50 pounds and using hand tools
  • Follow directions to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company safety regulations
  • Restore work areas by securing poles, managing cables, and ensuring proper alignment of telecom lines
  • Travel for emergency response efforts with minimal notice, assisting with network restorationIdentify utility conflicts and ensure proper clearance for aerial telecom installations
  • Review and adhere to minimum approach distances for working near electrical infrastructure
  • Maintain positive work relationships with internal teams, contractors, and utility partners
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure efficient project execution
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid state driver’s license with a minimum of two years of driving experience and an acceptable driving record
  • Six months of supervised aerial telecom equipment operation experience
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
  • Capable of working safely in all weather conditions, including high winds and extreme temperatures
  • Strong self-starter with effective communication skills
