Job summary

Westlake Global Compounds in Alabama is seeking an Operator Technician to ensure safe, efficient packaging of finished product on a fast-paced line. You will set up materials, monitor equipment, and help the machine operator during start-up and shutdown, while maintaining clean, organized work areas.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, a Silver or higher WorkKeys score, and a forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must score Silver or above on WorkKeys test.
• Certified Forklift License and prior forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment while performing job duties.
• Set up Gaylord boxes and mark tares to meet production demands.
• Inspect each Gaylord box and liner to ensure cleanliness and suitability.
• Weigh and package material with neat, legible labels on each package.
• Assist the machine operator on start-up and shutdown.
• Monitor vacuum chambers from the station and finished product.
• Notify the shift supervisor at coolers if anything is suspected.
• Store finished product and bulk materials properly and neatly.
• Keep area and tools neat, clean and stored properly.
• Perform cleaning of coolers on the shift.
