Job summary

Woodbridge Chattanooga Formed Plastics L.P. in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a skilled Set‑Up Technician to operate and maintain molding presses, ensure safety, quality and efficiency.

You will set up, cycle, troubleshoot and repair equipment, while coordinating with maintenance and quality teams to sustain process control. The role requires a strong mechanical background with hydraulics/pneumatics knowledge, the ability to lift heavy loads, and the aptitude to work both independently and within a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus post-secondary hydraulics/pneumatics courses (minimum 2).
• Minimum 2 years setup experience in manufacturing; forklift license preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge.
• Able to lift heavy loads and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and cycle machines safely and efficiently per work instructions.
• Troubleshoot presses and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Repair and maintain molding guns as required.
• Transport and store molds using a forklift; maintain clean work areas.
• Collaborate with maintenance and Quality to sustain process control; participate in 5S.
• Complete paperwork accurately and participate in cross‑functional teams.

General Responsibilities

• Set-up and cycle machines in a safe and efficient manner
• Follow proper set-up and cycling procedures as per work instructions
• Troubleshooting on presses, making minor repairs as required
• Repair and maintain molding guns when required or directed
• Transport and store molds using forklift
• Work with maintenance and Quality control to maintain process control
• Perform minor repairs on molds and machines
• Identify when major repairs are required on presses and advise supervisor
• Keep work area, mold storage areas, pre-setup area and equipment areas safe and tidy
• Complete all paperwork accurately
• Participate in cross-functional teams and aid in the training of new employees
• Participation in the 5S program
• All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus post-secondary training in technical courses (eg. hydraulics, pneumatics - minimum 2 related courses)
• Minimum 2 years related set-up experience, forklift license preferred
• Excellent mechanical ability and working knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics
• Good physical condition and able to do heavy lifting as required.
• Able to work independently and in a team effort
• An understanding of paperwork required; the ability to complete accurately and an understanding of the importance of cycle speeds.

Afternoon shift hours: 2:45pm - 11:15pm
