Job summary

Louisiana Plastic Industries (LPI) seeks an Operator’s Assistant to support production operators in extrusion and manufacturing. You will help with setup, monitor equipment, supply materials, and help ensure quality and timely production.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to grow in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience is a plus but not required; the role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and flexible shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Prior manufacturing or production experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators with setup, operation, and monitoring of extrusion and related production equipment.
• Supply raw materials to machines and ensure continuous production flow.
• Inspect products for defects and assist with quality control checks.
• Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and communicate issues to the operator or supervisor.
• Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Support the operator in meeting production goals and minimizing downtime.
