Position Details

Plant Operator 2nd Shift

Location: Sacramento, CA

Schedule: Mon - Fri, 2pm - 10:30pm

Airgas is a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Handle and fill gas products into cylinders, complying with all regulations and SOPs.
• Inspect cylinders, conduct safety checks, analyze product purity and mixtures.
• Handle high-pressure, medical, and cryogenic cylinders, preparing them for filling.
• Fill cylinders by pressure and weight, following standards.
• Assist with loading/unloading cylinders, operate forklift and warehouse equipment.
• Manage paperwork per DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
• Read and interpret labels and color codes, accurately label cylinders.
• Maintain safety standards for handling hazardous materials and keep the plant tidy.

Requirements

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1 year in manufacturing operations; filling/loading experience preferred. Knowledge of gas, welding, safety supplies, or chemical industry is a plus. Ability to complete certifications for cryogenic liquids and gases, FDA, Food Grade, CGMP. Must operate forklift with certification.

Skills & Abilities: Strong communication, reading MSDS, customer service, independent work, attention to detail, basic math, forklift operation.
