Job Overview:

The Plant Operator is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of natural gas amine treating plants, compressors, and pipeline systems via both computer control center and onsite operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Operating natural gas plant and pipeline equipment, including amine treating plants, dehydration skids, compressors, valves, and measurement equipment.
  2. Starting up/shutting down plant equipment and adjusting controls within prescribed ranges.
  3. Visually inspecting equipment for malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  4. Managing pressure in equipment and pipelines.
  5. Monitoring plant operations and responding to emergencies.
  6. Following Process Safety Management (PSM) protocols.
  7. Implementing safe work practices and fostering a safety culture.
  8. Monitoring gas gathering systems via SCADA and communicating with customers as needed.
  9. Ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining records.
  10. Performing minor maintenance tasks and site upkeep.
  11. Collaborating with supervisors on system improvements.
  12. Working rotating 12-hour shifts.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Technical certification or relevant training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record required.
  • Availability for 14-day on/14-day off rotation and to stay in company-provided housing.
  • Knowledge of systems in processing or fractionation plants required.
  • Basic math and computer skills required.
  • Ability to work under stressful and hazardous conditions, with physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights, including confined spaces.
