Lamb Weston is seeking an Operator Packaging Machine for the D Shift in Twin Falls, ID. The role focuses on operating, monitoring and adjusting packaging equipment to meet safety, food safety and quality standards during Night shift.

You will oversee line sanitation, ink-jet coding, bagger operations, sealers, and quality checks while ensuring correct container sizing and packaging materials. A noise-heavy, cold-to-warm environment is expected with physical demands including lifting up to 50

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
• Ability to perform basic math functions and data entry; proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor packaging line equipment performance and sanitation, ink-jet coding, bagger and sealer operations.
• Perform routine metal detector checks and monitor feed rates and product flow.
• Record packaging efficiencies, downtime, and complete reports accurately.
• Ensure packaging quality, weights, seals codes, and adhesives meet standards.

Job Description Summary

This position operates, monitors and adjusts the packaging equipment in a manner consistent with safety, food safety, quality, and production standards. Position is for Nights on D Shift.

Job Description

• Monitors Line Sanitation, Ink-jet coder, Bagger operation, Dyna-pack operation, Settlers and Case sealers
• Performs routine metal detector checks to ensure proper function of metal detectors.
• Monitors line flow rates. Including regular checks for proper feed of product through baggers.
• Monitors and adjust vibrators to gain optimum bagger performance.
• Orders packaging material
• Ensures proper container sizing
• Records packaging machinery efficiencies, downtime, and fills out reports accurately and correctly.
• Responsible for ensuring complete packaging quality of product taking regular checks or weights, seals codes, glue patterns, etc.
• Complete CIL’s and centerlines.
• Participates in AMD Drumbeats.
• Reworks product when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/ Certifications: (required/preferred)

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

Skills And Experience

• Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirement may vary by location).
• Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.
• Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
• Ability to perform basic math functions, required.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Physical Environment/Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
• Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
• Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation
• May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products
• Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
