Job summary

Lesaffre North America is hiring a Blending Operator to support our manufacturing operations in Iowa. You will follow safety protocols, stage raw materials, mix blends per recipes, and package products for shipment. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, basic math, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in food product packaging or blending preferred.
• Shipping/receiving experience preferred.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and follow through to completion.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to organize work and work with minimal supervision.
• Computer proficiency required and basic math/science understanding.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and participate in safety programs.
• Stage raw and packaging materials as required.
• Mix blends according to recipes and document procedures.
• Package product in various packaging types and conduct in‑process checks.
• Prepare products for shipment and assist in loading trucks.
• Operate forklifts and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Report data accurately and maintain records.

What You’ll Do as a Blending Operator

• Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre’s safety‑first culture by strictly following all safety protocols and participating in required safety programs
• Understand and effectively utilise all employee safety programs to ensure proper procedures are being followed
• Stage required raw materials and packaging materials
• Follow a recipe to create a blend to be mixed
• Follow procedures to package product in various packaging types
• Complete in‑process production checks
• Document, inspect and unload materials per written procedures
• Prepare products for shipment, load trucks and complete required paperwork
• Operate fork truck and floor scrubber
• Maintain warehouse and production areas in a clean and orderly condition
• Perform routine and non‑routine cleaning inside and outside of the facility
• Accurately report data and maintain records
• Apply mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Food product packaging and/or blending experience preferred
• Shipping and/or receiving experience preferred
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and follow through to completion
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to prioritise and organise work
• Computer proficiency required
• Solid understanding of basic math and science and the ability to apply this knowledge
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be detail‑oriented and safety‑minded
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee will be required to bend, twist and use stairs/ladders. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
