Select Water Solutions is seeking a Mud Plant Operator to safely and efficiently run heavy equipment at its disposal sites. You’ll ensure environmental and worker safety compliance, monitor pits and tanks, and document disposal workflows.

The role requires 12‑hour shifts, ability to work weekends, and reliable transportation. Strong attention to detail, good communication, and teamwork are essential in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators and heavy equipment required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate disposal area equipment and maintain appearance of site.
• Monitor pit and silo levels to ensure safe operations.
• Retrieve oil from working pits and tanks.
• Unload lines and discharge valves for disposal of fluids.
• Generate and document third‑party tickets and other compliance records.
• Meet regulatory requirements and communicate shift handover status.
• Attend company meetings and follow policies and procedures.
• Improve utilization and ensure driver compliance.
• Keep work area neat and safe; report unsafe conditions.

Job Description

Select’s Mud Plant Operator is responsible for assuring safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment. Maintain quality control and assure complete compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing environmental compliance, worker safety and underground injection well regulations.

Essential Job Functions

• Overall maintenance, upkeep and appearance of disposal area.
• Monitor pit levels and silo level.
• Retrieve oil from working pit/tanks.
• Unload lines, discharge and relieve valves or other equipment related to disposal of fluids.
• Generate and document third‑party tickets and other forms of documentation in support of disposal.
• Meet compliance requirements with county, state, and federal regulatory rules and regulations.
• Ensure smooth transition from day to night attendants: communicate current status and potential issues prior to end of shift.
• Attend company meetings as requested.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Improve utilization efficiently, driver compliance.
• Ensure immediate work area is neat and orderly to ensure safety of workers.
• Report and correct unsafe conditions of practices.

Requirements

• Must have a reliable means of transportation to work site.

Compensation Information

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Physical Demands and Exposures

• Work is always performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
• Prolonged sitting, standing, walking.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to individually lift: Maximum 50 lbs.
