Job summary

Carroll Concrete, a CRH Company, is seeking a Pump Operator to join our team in Vermont. This full-time year-round role includes pre-trip inspections, safe operation of concrete pumps, and coordination with contractors to deliver concrete on time.

No prior experience required; we provide training. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. Valid CDL-B required; overtime after 8 hours and weekly home time.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections of concrete pumps according to DOT regulations.
• Fill water tank and prepare equipment for operation.
• Safely drive to project sites and set up pump in a safe position.
• Pump concrete per customer specifications and maintain desired output.
• Complete all paperwork and communicate status to dispatch.
• Assist in plant/yard duties when not operating a pump.
• Follow Carroll Concrete Company policies and procedures.
• Collect payments from customers if necessary.

Operator – Pump Operator – Full-time year-round (CDL-B)(Vermont)

What You Can Expect

• Salary: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour and up based on experience.

What You Will Do

• Pre-trip inspection of concrete pumps pursuant to DOT regulations. Pre-trip inspection includes checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes and other driver operated controls such as hydraulic systems, line systems, and hydraulics.
• Fills water tank before each project by placing rubber hose into water tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
• Safely drives to project site that is assigned.
• Uses map and experience and takes most direct route to job site to ensure on time service.
• Safely drives concrete pump into site and works with contractor or homeowner to set up pump in a safe position.
• Pump concrete pursuant to customer desire with respect to yards per hour in the safest manner.
• Upon completion, the operator will clean out pump systems in the project where desired by contractor or homeowner, in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Keep pump dispatch informed as to the status of projects via two-way radio, digital pagers and cellular phones, if available.
• Prior to leaving the site, driver is responsible for completing all paperwork.
• If not running a pump, operator may be asked to work around the plant/yard, clean and maintain pump, assist at a batch or other duties as necessary.
• Understand and observe Carroll Concrete Company’s policies and procedures.
• Collect payment from customer, if necessary.
