Job summary

Carroll Concrete, a CRH Company, is seeking a Pump Operator for our Vermont operations. This full-time, year-round role requires a CDL-B and involves pre-trip inspections, safe pump setup, and delivering concrete to job sites in a timely, efficient manner.

No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training. Earn $28.00–$30.00 per hour with weekly home time, overtime after 8 hours, annual raise potential, paid time off, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability

Qualifications

• CDL-B license required or upon hire, ability to obtain within state timelines.

• Ability to perform pre-trip inspections and operate concrete pump equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspection of concrete pumps and check engine fluids, tires, brakes and hydraulics.
• Fill water tank prior to project start and verify valves are shut.
• Safely drive to project site and set up pump in a safe position with contractor.
• Pump concrete per customer requirements, control yards per hour safely.
• Clean pump systems after use and report status to dispatch.
• Complete paperwork and assist in plant/yard duties when not pumping.

What you will do:

• Pre-trip inspection of concrete pumps pursuant to DOT regulations. Pre-trip inspection includes checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes and other driver operated controls such as hydraulic systems, line systems, and hydraulics.
• Fills water tank before each project by placing rubber hose into water tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
• Safely drives to project site that is assigned.
• Uses map and experience and takes most direct route to job site to ensure on time service.
• Safely drives concrete pump into site and works with contractor or homeowner to set up pump in a safe position.
• Pump concrete pursuant to customer desire with respect to yards per hour in the safest manner.
• Upon completion, the operator will clean out pump systems in the project where desired by contractor or homeowner, in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Keep pump dispatch informed as to the status of projects via two-way radio, digital pagers and cellular phones, if available.
• Prior to leaving the site, driver is responsible for completing all paperwork.
• If not running a pump, operator may be asked to work around the plant/yard, clean and maintain pump, assist at a batch or other duties as necessary.
• Understand and observe Carroll Concrete Company's policies and procedures.
• Collect payment from customer, if necessary.
