Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Operator – MFG Equipment I to support manufacturing operations by running production equipment, handling materials, and ensuring quality and safety. You will work with teams to meet targets and maintain a clean, organized area.

The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, safe work practices, and ability to read instructions. It includes a 4-days-on, 3-days-off schedule with 12-hour night shifts, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

As an Operator – MFG Equipment I, you will support manufacturing operations by operating production equipment, handling materials, and ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality requirements. You will work closely with production teams to meet operational goals while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.


Fueling Your Passion

As an Operator – MFG Equipment I, you will play a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing operations. You will utilize your mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safety to operate production equipment, handle materials, and support daily manufacturing activities. Working closely with production teams, you will help ensure operational targets are achieved while maintaining compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and HSE requirements. This role offers an opportunity to develop manufacturing expertise, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and build a strong foundation for career growth within a dynamic industrial environment.


As an Operator – MFG Equipment I, you will be responsible for:


  • Operating manufacturing equipment and machinery in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.

  • Reading and interpreting routine work instructions, production documents, and specifications.

  • Performing basic mathematical calculations to support manufacturing and inspection activities.

  • Using general hand tools and precision measuring instruments to complete assigned tasks.

  • Handling and moving materials safely using approved equipment and methods.

  • Operating material‑moving equipment and overhead cranes, or obtaining required certifications as needed.

  • Conducting basic equipment checks and reporting any operational or quality concerns.

  • Maintaining accurate production records and documentation.

  • Following Baker Hughes HSE policies, quality standards, and work instructions.

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a clean, organized work area.


To be successful in this role, you will:


  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Have a minimum of 6 months of manufacturing or industrial experience.

  • Have good mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand tools and measuring equipment.

  • Have the ability to read and interpret routine instructions and manufacturing documentation.

  • Have basic mathematical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Have the ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented manufacturing environment.

  • Have strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.

  • Have the ability to obtain certification to operate material‑moving equipment and overhead cranes, if required.


Work in a Way That Works for You

This role may require shift work, overtime, and schedule flexibility based on operational requirements.


Work Schedule: 4-days-on, 3-days-off rotation, working 12‑hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
