Job Description:

Ethicon, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Operator Mechanic II located in its manufacturing site at San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico.

Under the direct supervision of the Facilitator and in compliance with QSR and safety requirements, performs vital setups, repairs, preventive maintenance & operate manufacturing assigned equipment. Performs electrical work in connection with the installation, maintenance, repair of electrical systems, equipment, and appliances.

Responsibilities:

1. The individual will produce different sizes and types of products of high quality and pre-determined production outputs.
2. Optimize machine performance by observing operating conditions, replenishing raw materials, and removing product that has cycled through the machine.
3. Use initiatives to assure efficient machine operations and high-quality standards.
4. Performs Machine Diagnosis (process problems), machine changeovers, machine setups, inspects and dispositions the finished product.
5. Responsible for correcting machine problems to minimize downtime.
6. May operate drill press, grinders, welding equipment and other tools to make repairs.
7. Responsible for the coordination and execution of Preventive Maintenance to the assigned equipment ensuring efficient machine operations and high-quality standards.
8. Responsible for the documentation of the PM’s and work orders.
9. Read diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturing specifications related to assigned equipment.
10. Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and in compliance with the established 6S program for the work area.
11. Accurate use of all personal protective equipment, if required, to safely perform the job as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Associate degree in Electronic Technology, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics or related technical field and two (2) years of experience in a regulated industry is required.
2. Basic computer management skills are required.
3. Strong electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge and troubleshooting skills are preferred.
4. Basic PLC knowledge and ability to read schematics is preferred.
5. Experience in an automated industrial environment is preferred.
6. Bilingual (Spanish & English) is required.
7. Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays is required.
8. Able to perform manual repetitive movements (fine handling) and/or shoulder lifting weighing approximately 16-30 pounds is required.
