Position: Operator - Main Line Utilities (Sanitary/Water/Storm)

Pay Range: $25.00/hr - $32.00/hr (based on skills and experience)

Job Summary

The Main Line Utilities Operator will operate machinery for construction, demolition, or excavation projects and perform related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, skid steers, rollers, and tractors with pan.
  • Prepare construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
  • Ensure loads are secured properly and perform daily equipment inspections.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Assist in digging for mainline utility installation and finish grading using GPS or stakes.
  • Maintain safety standards and follow safety guidelines at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure productivity and safety.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in laborer duties and heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of utility installation, GPS, and construction blueprints.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and operate machinery for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license or State ID; CPR, First Aid, and OSHA certification (training available).
Education & Experience
  • 8-10+ years of dirt/utility experience.
  • Experience with construction and heavy equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical strength, balance, and stamina to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work long hours, including Saturdays.
Tools Required
  • High visibility shirt or vest.
  • Utility knife.
  • Appropriate clothing for weather conditions.
