Job summary

RayzeBio, an oncology-focused radiopharmaceutical company, seeks an Operator – Isotope Production to join the GMP-driven manufacturing team in Indianapolis. You’ll help produce clinical and commercial isotopes, uphold safety standards, and ensure compliant operations on the production floor.

Ideal candidates have GMP experience, STEM degrees, and strong English communication skills to collaborate across Quality, Radiochemistry, and Engineering groups while delivering reliable isotope products.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years' experience in a GMP environment.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field preferred.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP practices.
  • Pipetting knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles.
  • Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Motivated, adaptable, and able to work under pressure while meeting production schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Execute routine isotope production (material prep, equipment setup, batch execution, waste disposal) with GMP and NRC compliance.
  • Perform radiochemical separations using hot cell equipment and glove box isolator per batch records.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize production processes and efficiency.
  • Support investigation of quality events and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist inventory management of consumables, spare parts, cleaning supplies and PPE.
  • Promote safety and compliance with EHS and Radiation Safety programs.

Summary

The Operator – Isotope Production will be an integral part of bringing RayzeBio’s innovative drug products to patients in need. As Operator within the Isotope Production department, you will be instrumental in the day‑to‑day execution of an isotope production program that will manufacture the clinical and commercial scale radioisotopes for RayzeBio’s drug products. This individual will be part of a team responsible for producing RayzeBio’s isotopes under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Additionally, you will be the front line in ensuring compliance with radiation safety requirements on the production floor. This position will report to the Supervisor – Isotope Production. Operator level will be evaluated with experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute routine isotope production (including material preparation, equipment setup, batch execution, post‑batch material removal, waste disposal etc.) while ensuring compliance with GMP, site SOPs, NRC regulations, and management expectations.
  • Perform radiochemical separations utilizing hot cell equipment and isotope purification within a glove box isolator in accordance with applicable batch records.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams including Management, Quality, Radiochemistry, and Engineering identifying opportunities to optimize production processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Support the investigation of quality events, including the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support inventory management, including consumables, spare parts, cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote and model a culture of safety and compliance with EHS and Radiation Safety programs.
Education and Experience
  • Previous experience operating within hot cells and/or glove boxes is strongly preferred.
  • 1 – 4 years’ experience operating in a GMP environment.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field is preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for long periods. This is a position that requires working in a laboratory environment, protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses are required while working in a laboratory environment with radioactive materials.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation Overview

Indianapolis - RayzeBio - IN: $31.07 - $37.64per hour

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full‑time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job‑related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
