Responsibilities:
  1. Participates in and actively supports corporate programs and initiatives; understands, supports and upholds Company policies and procedures.
  2. Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, and improve the sequence of operations and processes in coordination with other departments.
  3. Collaborates with other Department Leads/Supervisors to coordinate daily production needs.
  4. Inspects raw materials, work in process (WIP), and fabricated parts.
  5. Reads and interprets blueprints, checking parts to prints to ensure manufacturing accuracy. Reviews job aids and shop orders.
  6. Uses measuring instruments, such as verniers and gauges, to measure materials and make necessary adjustments.
  7. Performs math calculations for machine setup.
  8. Completes routine paperwork accurately, recording proper information for inventory management.
  9. Requests additional materials and assignments as needed.
  10. Contacts relevant work areas independently when problems arise.
  11. Performs or assists with preventive maintenance of equipment.
  12. Performs other duties as required or directed.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to perform all functions in the department as directed by Supervisor.
  • Significant knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes such as punching, bending, welding.
  • Solid mechanical ability and prior machine operator experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints in English and operate basic measuring instruments.
  • Ability to use hand, air, and electric powered tools and operate material-moving equipment.
  • Ability to set up machines and tooling, with a working knowledge of tooling and fixtures.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on prototypes.
  • Good communication skills.
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate clearly in English related to the job.
  • Perform basic math calculations.
  • Stand and walk continuously for 4-12 hours daily.
  • Lift up to 33 lbs frequently, more with assistance.
  • Push and pull products on carts, racks, pallets, and shelves.
  • Work in a plant environment with seasonal indoor climate fluctuations.
  • Work overtime as needed, including weekdays and weekends.
