Job summary

Alcon is seeking a Production Operator II for the Fort Worth site. The role focuses on operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production equipment to support packaging of eye care products. You’ll manage resources and records to ensure quality and efficiency in a cGMP environment.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma and are fluent in English. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–11:00pm, onsite with travel requirements 0–10%.

This role is part of Alcon's Manufacturing function, a team that designs, produces and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency. The Operator II, Production Technical Operations (Para-Professional & Support Path), is primarily responsible for handling complex tasks in production operations, including equipment setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will manage resources and monitor quality, requiring technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Handle complex manual or operational tasks to ensure smooth and efficient processes
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment
  • Manage resources and schedules to meet specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards
  • Move, pack, and sort raw materials or finished goods
  • Monitor output quality to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products
  • Maintain accurate daily production records for performance analysis
  • Make minor decisions within task scope, requiring technical skills and problem-solving
  • Review work orders, schedule resources, and monitor operations to align with business objectives and drive excellence
Essential Functions:
  • Operate equipment to package products, in accordance with standards and procedures (cGMP, SOPs, etc.).
  • Adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Keep work areas clean and free of hazards or dangerous conditions, identify and report safety hazards or unsafe behavior, perform duties in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and participate in site safety programs.
  • Responsible for completing/reviewing Master Batch Records (MBRs), SOPs, log books, etc.
  • Responsible for documentation/completion of machine challenges, line clearances, and usage of machinery.
  • Assist in material handling, assembly, and stacking of sterile product.
  • Set up and replenish line/equipment for daily operation, ensuring needed materials are available.
  • Support line efficiency goals and resolve or report discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other shifts and departments (Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials, etc.) to ensure smooth execution of work.
