Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation, a leading materials producer, seeks a production operator to operate and support multiple plant areas. Responsibilities include handling batches, performing routine quality checks, and aiding in lab sample provision.

Strong emphasis on safety, PPE, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, good communication skills, and prior experience in production.

Responsibilities

• Review batch tickets; read, understand, and follow.
• Provide samples to lab.
• Report near miss incidents and improvement opportunities.
• Equipment cleaning, tub washing, plant cleaning and waste disposal.
• Labeling containers.
• SAP inventory look-up.
• Gather and weigh ingredients (Scale operation).
• Participate on plant teams.
• Stock rotation / Minimization of partial containers.
• Ingredient traceability.
• Operate and troubleshoot mixing equipment.
• Training others.
• Preliminary quality checks.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Under minimal direction, independently operates production equipment in various areas of manufacturing. Able to fill in for other positions in the plant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Review batch tickets; read, understand, and follow.

SAFETY:

• Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean work area and work safely.
• Participate actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs, and training sessions.

ISO / QUALITY MANAGEMENT / PSM INITIATIVES:

• Follow all standard operating procedures with respect to performance of position duties.
• Stay updated on all applicable procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Candidates must have demonstrated experience with and knowledge of safety.
• Candidates must possess sound verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred.
