Job summary

Steri-Tek is seeking an Operations Technician to operate e-beam and X-ray equipment and associated spectrophotometer tasks at our Fremont site. The role focuses on accurate processing of customer products and maintaining sterile conditions as directed by supervisors.

Responsibilities include using Steri-Tek software, running the HMI, and ensuring documentation is complete while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

  • Move product throughout the warehouse under supervision.
  • Operate Steri-Tek software and navigate Product Processing Specification Codes in the system.
  • Run the HMI and pull the correct job to process orders.
  • Prepare customer requirements for the linear accelerator system to meet sterility levels.
  • Maintain safety procedures and complete required reports and documentation.

Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Move product throughout the warehouse under the instruction of the Operations Manager/supervisors/leads
  • Ability to operate the specific Steri-Tek software.
    • Able to accurately navigate, select and verify the Product Processing Specification Code in the Product Treatment Management System.
    • Able to run the Human Machine Interface.
    • Able to pull the correct job to process the order.
    • Prepare all aspects of the customer requirements for the linear accelerator system to process customer products to the required sterility assurance level (including but not limited to loading totes, dosimeters, and ensure totes are stable).
    • Able to turn the accelerator machine on/off for long periods of time.
  • Ability to assist with basic tasks of the maintenance of the system under supervision.
  • Understand all safety systems at start-up and shutdown.
  • Use a spectrophotometer on a regular basis. Maintain daily calibration records.
    • Understand when to escape to an Operator Specialist or above
    • Review all HMI work and documentation.
    • Review all dosimetry work and documentation.
  • Complete all required reports and documentation accurately and completely, including non-conformances.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Once all primary tasks are complete, assist other employees and departments as needed.
  • Complete compliance training/continuing education requirements by the noted deadlines.
  • Complete and ensure proper execution of appropriate Steri-Tek Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist in the training of other employees under the direction of the Operations Manager or delegate.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Once all primary tasks are complete, assist other employees and departments as needed.
  • Complete compliance training/continuing education requirements by the noted deadlines.
  • Complete and ensure proper execution of appropriate Steri-Tek Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist in the training of other employees under the direction of the Operations Management team or authorized delegate.
Minimum Qualification & Experience Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience (1-2 years warehouse experience)
  • Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate in English
  • Able to write clearly and correctly to complete paperwork associated with the job.
  • Team player and willing to work with others across the business.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
  • Ability to report mistakes, faults, and accidents to management.
  • Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
Summary

The Operations Technician will work as part of a team whose primary purpose is operating and monitoring the e-beam and X-ray machines (where applicable) and/or Spectrophotometer to ensure customers’ products are accurately processed and irradiated.
