Zachry Group in Baytown, TX is seeking an Industrial Dirt Equipment Operator to move earth using bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, and other dirt equipment. You will perform safety checks, inspect gear, and assist with routine maintenance.

The role requires at least 1 year of dirt equipment experience, reliable transportation, and the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and overtime. You will follow site safety rules and coordinate with signalers as needed.

Job Description

Industrial Dirt Equipment Operators will operate one or more construction equipment such as but not limited to bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, back hoes, rollers, and graders to move earth. They will also be responsible for safety, equipment inspections, and possibly assisting with repairs. The position will be expected to assist other crafts in their down times which may include non-operating activities.

Responsibilities

• Will operate various construction dirt equipment to move the earth in precision processes.
• Will inspect equipment.
• Will be responsible for all safety aspects of operating the equipment.
• May follow signal directions from a signaler in equipment operations.
• Will access area of operations for safety issues and required processes an planning of equipment operations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualification Highlights

• Must have 1 years experience as a Dirt Equipment Operator.
• Must possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions (see below).
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• May be required to have a valid driver's license and meet a motor vehicle records check.
• Must have all required tools.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Must have experience and knowledge of operating various construction equipment including but not limited to: bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, back hoes, rollers, and graders.
• Must have basic mechanical knowledge and illustrate the abilities to inspect equipment.
• Must have knowledge of and be familiar with soil types.
• Must illustrate knowledge of excavating and the specifications that are required for a given excavation.
• Must be able to follow instructions correctly.
• Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes such as but not limited to equipment inspection paperwork.
• Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations.
• Must be able to make it to work on time and work the designated schedule and any overtime as needed with the proper notification.

Preferred Additional Qualification

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Valid Driver's License/ Pass an MVR.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairways, and work from elevated platforms.
• Ability to work at heights up to 300 feet while utilizing proper fall protection.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including:
• Hard hat
• Safety glasses
• Gloves
• Face shield
• Hearing protection
• Fall protection harness
• Goggles
• Work Schedule
• Rotating schedule required .
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
