Job summary

4over is seeking a Cutter Operator I for its on-site plant to set up, adjust, and operate cutting equipment to meet customer specs. The role requires work on a 3rd shift (10:00 pm–6:00 am or similar), and is based in Moonachie, NJ.

Responsibilities include batching, prioritizing jobs, and maintaining quality and safety standards. Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and possibly related cutting-machine experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or 1-year cutting-machine exp.
• Experience with Polar or Saber preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate batching system to meet customer specs.
• Identify priority jobs and plan work processes.
• Troubleshoot machines and notify management.
• Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools.
• Set up job specs and run product once authorized.
• Monitor run and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Complete paperwork and records.
• Conduct general housekeeping and safety compliance.
• Report workplace hazards or injuries immediately.
• Attend department meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Summary: The Cutter Operator I is responsible for the setup, adjustment, and safe operation of all cutting equipment to prepare product to be packed, collated, or bound, ensuring the meeting of customer specifications, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Schedule: 3rd shift, Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five or more days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 10:00 pm – 6:00 AM, or similar. This is an on-site position requiring the employee to be present physically.

Salary Range: $17.00 To 19.00 Hourly

• Maintain and operate batching system to ensure the completion of assignments
  • Identify priority jobs to be completed
  • Review job tickets and strategically plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobs
• Troubleshoot machines, if possible, to resolve any problems and/or notify production management
• Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools, as required
• Set up job assignment specifications, obtain approval and run product once authorized by supervisor or Plant Manager
• Monitor apparatus during run, adjust as needed to ensure adherence to specification including operating speed
• Complete and process all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
• Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
• Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
• Assist in cultivating an interdependent safety culture by reporting workplace hazards, related injuries, illnesses and or/near misses to management immediately
• Attend all department/company meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency; or one-year related experience with Polar or Saber cutting machines in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
