Job summary

TP Mechanical Contractors is seeking a skilled backhoe operator for sites in and around Ohio. You will read blueprints, perform excavation for plumbing installations, and coordinate with subcontractors while representing TP Mechanical Contractors professionally.

Travel to multiple sites and shift work may be required. Responsibilities include safe operation of equipment, regular maintenance, assisting with equipment installation, and moving gear between jobs.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years experience operating a backhoe in field plumbing operations.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret plumbing layouts.
• Capable of using hand and power tools safely in a construction setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment, primarily a backhoe, safely and in compliance with OSHA and TP Mechanical Contractors standards.
• Conduct regular maintenance on equipment, including greasing and checking fluids.
• Assist with installing equipment on job sites.
• Move equipment between jobs as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsible for daily work at sites in and around Ohio, including own travel arrangements and on-time start of work. Work includes operation of equipment, primarily backhoes and excavation of all types of plumbing trenches. Individual should read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other persons on the job-site, including our sub-contractors, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate various equipment, primarily a backhoe, in a safe manner, ensuring all OSHA and TP Mechanical Contractors standards are met or exceeded. Responsible for the excavation of all types of plumbing trenches.
• Ensure regular maintenance is conducted on all equipment such as grease and checking fluids.
• Help install equipment on jobs.
• Responsible for moving equipment from job-to-job.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 4 years experience operating a backhoe in field plumbing operations.

Job Skills

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of general plumbing and piping installation.
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
• Basic math skills.

Education

• High School or GED Equivalent.
• Trade School a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Able to perform shift work.
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Special Requirements

• Valid Drivers License.
• Able to operate heavy machinery.
• OSHA 10 Construction Industry certification.
