Job summary

BARNES in Lansing, MI is seeking a production/operator to support training of B and C level operators, load baskets with product, and move them through chemical lines.

You will use calibrated tools to verify parts meet customer specs, complete paperwork, and uphold safety and quality standards. Strong attendance and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

• Process parts through chemical line by loading baskets with product and lowering baskets into tanks.
• Use calibrated tools and measuring devices to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
• Complete required paperwork and checklists.
• Perform work with a high degree of responsibility with an emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications:

• Solid job history including more than 1 year at previous or recent employer.
• Willingness and ability to learn and retain new skills.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
• Compliance with general attendance standards is required.
• Capable of reading and understanding written instructions, procedures, safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to follow safe handling requirements for hazardous chemicals.

Shift Premium:

• "Split Shift" differential - 6% when working 7am- 7pm

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
