Job summary

ProAmpac in Portland, OR is seeking a bag machine operator for a fulltime, hourly position. The job includes setting up bag machines, loading materials, and calibrating equipment to ensure quality output and production quotas are met.

You will monitor processes, troubleshoot issues, document activities, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while upholding safety standards. Training is provided on multiple shifts with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow production specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Completes bag machine setup for production runs, including loading materials and calibrating equipment.
• Monitors production process and inspects materials to ensure quality and quotas.
• Verifies and tracks materials for inventory and work in progress.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs routine maintenance.
• Completes documentation for internal or external use.

Schedule ? varies ? Training is conducted during our 06:00am to 02:00pm shift

06:00am to 02:00pm; 02:00pm to 10:00pm: 10:00pm to 06:00am and 24/7 Shifts 06:00am to 06:00pm and 06:00pm to 06:00am include every other weekend.

What You?ll Do

As a bag machine operator: Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Completes bag machine setup for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Monitors the production process, inspects and test materials and equipment using safe and proper protocols, to ensure products meet quality standards an production quotas are met.
• Verifies and tracks all materials for inventory and work in progress regulations.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently.
• Completes all necessary documentation for internal or external use.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work primarily in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Exposure to moving machinery, production noise, and varying temperatures may occur
• Required PPE includes hearing protection, steel/composite shoes, eye protection, hair/beard nets.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials or operate equipment
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed
