Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Lakeland, FL is seeking an Operator B for the Laminated Mattress Department on 1st shift to produce products for external customers in a safe, efficient environment that meets daily production schedules and customer specs.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, be able to read a tape measure, lift up to 70 pounds with a teammate, and operate computerized equipment. One year of assembly is preferred, and flexible hours or OT may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• One year of assembly experience preferred.
• Must be able to use computerized equipment in day to day operations and have computer knowledge.
• Must be able to lift mattresses in a team with other operators, up to 70 pounds the entire production shift.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to read and understand the product labeling process.
• Must maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment.
• Must learn the different types of mattresses produced and the configuration of each.
• Must be able to build mattresses in an efficient manner.
• Conducts quality checks of all material to meet customer specifications.
• Wrap, seal and label foam according to customer specifications and customer quantities.

Carpenter Co has an immediate opening on 1st shift for an Operator B in our Laminated Mattress D epartment at our Lakeland, FL manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for producing specific products(s) for external customers in an efficient, safe and productive environment meeting the demands established by a daily production schedule and customers specifications. The hourly starting pay rates for this position is $17.90 per hour. This position works in a normal production environment with exposure to temperature changes and noise.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected tomaintain daily communications with Department Managerand other employees in the department.Major responsibilities involve producing products with varying cutting instructions based production requirements.

Your additional responsibilities as an Operator B LMATT will include:
