Job summary

Palermo’s Pizza is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st shift at our Milwaukee facility. You will set up the machine for daily production, monitor performance, and ensure quality in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have experience in high-speed manufacturing or food production, can lift up to 50 lbs, and perform hands-on adjustments while complying with GMP and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing or food production.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Comfort working with machinery and performing hands-on adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Set up the machine for daily production, make adjustments as needed, and monitor for quality and performance.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and elevate as needed.
• Read and interact with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to sanitation and GMP standards.
• Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and PPE usage.
• Work collaboratively with Leads, Supervisors, and Quality Assurance to meet production goals.

Where you’ll work

At our Villa Palermo facility located in Milwaukee’s Menomonee River Valley. This modern, state-of-the-art food production plant features automated pizza manufacturing lines, an in-house bakery, and advanced packaging and labeling equipment.

When you’ll work

• 1st Shift: 6am-2:30pm

What You’ll Do

Work Environment

This role is performed in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You’ll be regularly exposed to varying temperatures—including cold and refrigerated areas—as part of our frozen pizza production process. You must be comfortable working in cold conditions while remaining alert, focused, and safety conscious.
