JOB SUMMARY

The Operator is responsible for operating heavy construction equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, scrapers, and graders to move earth and other materials. This role is essential for preparing sites for construction by grading, trenching, and removing debris in a safe, efficient, and precise manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Operate heavy construction equipment bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, scrapers, and graders

• Perform pre and post shift inspections of equipment. Document any damage to equipment or services needed.
• Recognize hazardous conditions and report to supervisor.
• While operating equipment communicate with others using verbal and non-verbal hand signals

• Inspect, clean, maintain and repair equipment
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools needed in construction
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least 3 years’ experience operating heavy construction equipment

• Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
• Ability to operate job related tools
• Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help
