Job summary

BD, a global medical technology leader, is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Sandy, UT. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, collaborating with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to meet safety and production goals.

The role requires 1–4 years of experience, basic mechanical/electrical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. On-site work, safety compliance, and continuous improvement are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–4 years of experience repairing industrial equipment, machinery, or high-speed manufacturing equipment preferred
• Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer and math skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow safety procedures and manufacturing standards
• Willingness to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment issues
• Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Repair and replace machine components to minimize downtime
• Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and production support
• Perform equipment adjustments, testing, and fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation
• Support preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives
• Train and support operators on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements
• Participate in 5S, safety, and continuous improvement activities
• Help drive equipment reliability, uptime, and overall production performance

Job Description

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 5:40 PM - 5:50 AM with every other weekend off

Join BD as a Maintenance Technician and play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this hands-on role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve production equipment while working closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to support production goals.

Work Environment

Clean manufacturing environment

Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and equipment interaction throughout the shift

Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair covering, and other protective equipment as needed

Exposure to moving machinery, production equipment, and varying manufacturing conditions
