Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) seeks a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain high-volume manufacturing equipment in our Sandy, Utah site.

You will diagnose failures, perform routine and emergency repairs, and support preventive maintenance while documenting work and improving uptime. Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge and ability to read blueprints are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years repairing industrial equipment in manufacturing.
• Experience as Maintenance Technician or similar preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with packaging equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic production equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failures and perform routine and emergency repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance and document work.
• Support production lines to improve equipment uptime and efficiency.
• Replace defective components and coordinate fabrication of replacements.
• Identify root causes and fix performance issues.
• Mentor less experienced technicians and support production staff.
• Read blueprints and schematics to perform maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Solve issues and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment
• Diagnose equipment failures and perform routine and emergency repairs
• Complete preventive maintenance activities and document maintenance work
• Support assigned production lines to improve equipment uptime and efficiency
• Replace defective machine components and coordinate fabrication of replacement parts when needed
• Fix equipment performance issues and identify root causes of recurring problems
• Assist with equipment improvements and proactive maintenance initiatives
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions
• Mentor less experienced maintenance team members and support production personnel
• Work independently or as part of a team to resolve equipment breakdowns quickly and safely

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Equipment Technician, or similar technical role in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• One or more years of experience repairing industrial manufacturing equipment, machinery, or packaging equipment
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Work Environment

Fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting high-volume production equipment

Hands-on resolving and repair work throughout the shift

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and equipment interaction required use of safety and personal protective equipment (PPE)
